Scribner-Snyder falls at Guardian Angels Central Catholic

The Scribner-Snyder Trojans had a rough go of things Friday night, falling 74-16 at Guardian Angels Central Catholic.

GACC led 16-0 at the end of one and outscored the Trojans 38-0 in the second quarter to take a 54-0 lead into the locker room.

Scribner-Snyder won the third quarter 8-6 to make it a 60-8 game at the end of three.

The Bluejays notched 14 fourth quarter points compared to 8 for the Trojans.

Gunner Palmer rushed for 145 yards on 13 carries, and scored both Scribner-Snyder touchdowns. Brandon Noel had 53 yards on 6 carries.

Michael Broussard and Riley Meyer each had 9 tackles for the Trojans.

Scribner-Snyder totaled 218 yards of offense, including 216 on the ground.

The defense gave up 449 yards of offense, including 408 rushing.

The Trojans gave it their all Friday night, but unfortunately for Scribner-Snyder, GACC is a well oiled machine.

The Trojans (2-3) have another tough game Friday night at East Butler (5-0).

The Tigers won 76-12 at Cedar Bluffs last week, and have been dominant all season.

East Butler defeated Mead 62-22 while Scribner-Snyder lost to the Raiders 40-34.

It's asking a lot from the Trojans to beat the Tigers, but Scribner-Snyder has to do what they can to win and have a much better showing than they did against the Bluejays.

I'm sure the Trojans feel they are a much better team than what they showed last week, and will most likely be anxious to get back out there and prove it.

Broussard and Darnell Sims need to have big games running the ball for Scribner-Snyder, and Broussard needs to have a big game passing as well.

The Trojans must have more than two yards passing if they want to hang with and beat East Butler.

Scribner-Snyder ran the ball well on GACC, and they have to continue that against the Tigers, but the Trojans must do a much better job of stopping the run.

You can bet East Butler is aware that the Bluejays ran for over 400 yards on Scribner-Snyder.

It all starts on defense for the Trojans. Scribner-Snyder has to get stops and force turnovers to hang in the game Friday night.

The Trojans also have to take care of the ball when they have it, and put up touchdowns when the opportunity presents itself.
