Guardian Angels Central Catholic runs over Scribner-Snyder

The Guardian Angels Central Catholic Bluejays dominated Scribner-Snyder at home Friday night, winning 74-16.

GACC led 16-0 at the end of one and outscored the Trojans 38-0 in the second quarter to take a 54-0 lead into the locker room.

Scribner-Snyder won the third quarter 8-6 to make it a 60-8 game at the end of three.

The Bluejays notched 14 fourth quarter points compared to 8 for the Trojans.

Tanner Hass had 11 carries for 198 yards and four touchdowns. Cole Kreikemeier carried the ball twice for 63 yards, and scored both times.

Blake Guenther made a team-high 9 tackles while Hass had 7.

GACC amassed 449 yards of offense, including 408 on the ground.

The defense surrendered 218 yards, 216 coming on the ground.

The Bluejays simply dominated Friday night. This was a very impressive win for GACC. The Bluejays came out and took care of business from the start, and left no doubt as to who the better team is.

GACC (5-0) travels to Pender (4-1) Friday night.

The Pendragons defeated Omaha Nation by forfeit.

Pender is good, but to this point in the season, they are not at the Bluejays' level.

GACC has been off the charts with their play this season. Creighton beat the Pendragons 56-14, and I think the Bluejays are better than the Bulldogs.

I could see Pender hanging with GACC for a while, but I look for the Bluejays to be too much and pull away eventually.

Hass needs to have a big game running the ball and GACC needs to slow down the Pendragons' run game, primarily Lorenzo Duenas.

The Bluejays did an excellent job on Scribner-Snyder's Michael Broussard and Darnell Sims. GACC didn't allow either player to beat them.

I look for the Bluejays to have a similar type effort Friday night although GACC could still give up yardage like they did against the Trojans.

This is the Bluejays' final test of the regular season. If GACC wins Friday night they should be able to win their last two games rather easily.

It will be interesting to see if the Bluejays actually play 8 games, or if Omaha Nation forfeits at the end of the regular season. GACC is scheduled to play the Chiefs the last game of the season.

Friday night's kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. Pregame is set for 7:40 on 107.9 the Bull.
