The Clarkson/Leigh Patriots turned in another impressive performance Friday night, defeating Fullerton 52-26 in Leigh.
Clarkson/Leigh led 6-0 at the end of the first quarter before erupting for 24 points in the second quarter. The Patriots led 30-6 at halftime after the Warriors scored six second quarter points.
Clarkson/Leigh outscored Fullerton 22-6 in the third quarter to go up 52-12 at the end of three.
The Warriors blanked the Patriots 14-0 in the fourth quarter.
Kobe Paprocki ran for 197 yards on 20 carries, and scored five times on the ground. Bradley Bunner added 128 yards rushing on 18 carries. Brandon Steffensmeier had 68 yards on 6 carries, including one score.
Paprocki was 3-5 passing for 95 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Bunner was on the receiving end of the 58-yard strike.
Bunner and Seth Thompson made 10 tackles apiece while Tyrell Pokorney had 7.
Clarkson/Leigh racked up 541 yards of offense, including 446 on the ground.
The Patriots have certainly made a lot of noise this season. Clarkson/Leigh is a team to be reckoned with as they are 5-0 on the season. This has been a season to remember so far for the Patriots.
Clarkson/Leigh is at Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family (2-3) Friday night.
Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family won 58-30 at Heartland last time out, and is certainly a better team than their record shows.
Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family gave Fullerton a run for their money, losing 66-54.
We definitely know Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family can score points, but with the exception of the Winnebago game, they have struggled to stop people.
I look for Paprocki and Bunner to have big games in the run an pass game for the Patriots.
These two really make this team go, and without them, Clarkson/Leigh wouldn't be nearly as good as they are.
I look for Steffensmeier to get in on the act too like he did against the Warriors.
I like Clarkson/Leigh to win big. I think the Patriots could be challenged early, but at some point I look for Clarkson/Leigh to take over and run away with things.
It should be a relatively big win for the Patriots. I think Clarkson/Leigh will run wild on Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family, just like they have every other team this season.
The Patriots are having a special season, and there's not a whole lot slowing them down right now. Clarkson/Leigh has to keep the mojo going, and continue to put up big numbers and post big wins.
This is the Patriots' final road game of the season so it would be accomplishment to finish the season 4-0 on the road.
