Tekamah-Herman falls to Fremont Bergan
The Tekamah-Herman Tigers took some steps in the right direction Friday night, but lost 54-14 at home to Fremont Bergan.
The Knights scored 21 points in the first and second quarters each, and held Tekamah-Herman to 6 first half points to lead 42-6 at halftime.
After neither team scored in the third quarter, Fremont Bergan added 12 fourth quarter points compared to 8 for the Tigers.
It was another tough game for Tekamah-Herman, but the Tigers have to be encouraged by the improvement they showed last week.
Tekamah-Herman (0-5) is at Yutan (4-1) Friday night.
The Chieftains lost 41-0 at David City Aquinas last time out, but are still a good team.
This is going to be another very difficult challenge for the Tigers. Tekamah-Herman will most likely not have an easy time with Yutan.
The game being on the road makes things even more difficult too.
With that said, the Tigers have to keep getting better. Tekamah-Herman has to continue to work to score points, and do what they can to limit the Chieftains' offense.
The Tigers must have a positive attitude throughout the game.
Tekamah-Herman can't get down on themselves, and simply give up.
The Tigers have to continue to fight and battle throughout the game, and let the result be what it is.
There's not a ton Tekamah-Herman can control given their injury situation, but the Tigers can control their effort, heart, hustle, and determination.
I think Tekamah-Herman has a chance to make things closer than they did with the Knights. It all comes down to how well the Tigers play.
Tekamah-Herman has to wrap up when they have the chance and can't give up big plays.
If the Tigers can force Yutan to drive the length of the field and make them earn their points, things could be more interesting than most think.
Tekamah-Herman also has to take care of the ball. The Tigers can't afford to turn the ball over. Tekamah-Herman also needs to force turnovers and catch some breaks.
