Logan View loses at home to Yutan
The Logan View Raiders lost big at home to Yutan Friday night, falling 45-7.
The Chieftains went up 13-0 at the end of one and both teams scored 7 second quarter points to make it a 20-7 game at halftime.
Yutan shutout Logan View 19-0 in the third quarter to take a commanding 39-7 lead into the fourth quarter.
The Chieftains added 6 fourth quarter points and held the Raiders scoreless.
Logan View allowed 420 yards of offense, including 326 on the ground.
I think the Raiders were still probably shell shocked and down from the loss the week before to Fremont Bergan.
I'm sure Logan View won't use that as an excuse, but I think the Raiders are a much better team than what they showed Friday night.
Logan View (3-4) is at David City Aquinas (6-1) Friday night.
The Monarchs defeated Tekamah-Herman 78-0 last time out and are the real deal.
The Raiders are probably out of playoff contention so at this point it is all about pride for Logan View.
The Raiders have to come out and play with the same fire, passion, intensity, and desire they played with against the Knights.
Logan View is definitely capable of keeping things respectable against David City Aquinas, but I could see them getting blown out as well.
The Raiders can't show up unprepared and not ready to play. This team has to be motivated to have a good showing, and must play hard and well from start to finish.
Logan View has a very tough task on their hand, there's no doubt about it. But the Raiders can't be scared of the Monarchs.
Logan View has to hit hard, block and tackle well, and must match David City Aquinas's intensity.
The Raiders also have to limit big plays. If Logan View can force the Monarchs to drive the length of the field, they will be better off.
