Winnebago loses to Pender

The Winnebago Indians dropped their third straight game last Thursday, falling 48-6 at Pender.

The Pendragons scored 20 first quarter points and added 22 in the second quarter to lead 42-0 at halftime.

Both teams scored 6 third quarter points to make up the final score. Neither team scored in the fourth quarter.

Winnebago gave up 361 yards of offense, including 291 on the ground.

It was another setback for the Indians. Pender is a quality team, but I'm sure Winnebago feels they could have played better.

The Indians (1-3) host Hartington-Newcastle (0-4) Friday night.

The Wildcats lost 60-8 at Wakefield last time out.

I think Winnebago has a good chance to win Friday night.

Hartington-Newcastle lost to the Trojans worse than the Indians did, and hasn't had a game closer than 13 points this season.

I wouldn't be totally surprised if the Wildcats won, but I think Winnebago is in good shape to pick up their second win of the season.

The Indians just have to be better on offense and defense.

The way Winnebago has played the last two weeks is not good enough to win.

The Indians definitely have to step up their game and play better. There's no doubt in my mind Winnebago is capable of playing well, they already proved it against Cedar Bluffs.

It's simply a matter of the Indians becoming consistent. Winnebago has to play well on both sides of the ball to beat Hartington-Newcastle.

The Indians have to be psyched, jacked, and fired up for this game. Winnebago has a chance to get to 2-3, and one more win after that might be good enough to get into the playoffs.

This Indians' team can definitely turn things around and do something. It will be interesting to see if Winnebago plays better Friday night.
