North Bend Central ends year with loss to Wahoo

The season came to a close for the North Bend Central Tigers Friday night as they lost 54-14 at home to Wahoo.

It wasn't an ideal end to the season for North Bend Central, but I think the Tigers can take pride in the fact they had a better season this year than last year.

North Bend Central ends the year at 1-8. The Tigers were more competitive in every game this year and put up more points than they did a season ago.

North Bend Central parts ways with seniors Chris Dostal, Jake Cleveringa, Colby Anderson, Lucas Moore, Nick Hines, and Ryan Kreikemeier.

These seniors will not be soon forgotten I am sure. Their contributions to Tiger football will be remembered for years to come I am willing to bet.

Six seniors isn't a whole lot to lose when you have 37 players on the roster. That means North Bend Central will return 31 players from this year's team.

The Tigers were young this year, but made a lot of strides throughout the season.

The win over West Point-Beemer was no doubt the highlight of the season, and North Bend Central came close to beating David City.

I think you will see an even more improved Tiger squad next season as long as everyone dedicates themselves to the weight room and the practice field in the offseason.

There is certainly a lot of room for growth and improvement on this team, and I look for North Bend Central to have a better 2016 than 2015.

This season wasn't a huge success, but improvement was made from last year and things were better for the Tigers this year.

I think the future looks bright for this program. With a lot of players returning North Bend Central could be poised to make some noise in 2016.
