North Bend Central falls to Columbus Scotus
The North Bend Central Tigers lost 49-10 at Columbus Scotus Friday night.
The Shamrocks went up 14-0 at the end of one and outscored North Bend Central 28-0 in the second quarter to take a 42-0 lead into the locker room.
The Tigers notched 3 third quarter points to make it a 42-3 game at the end of three.
Both teams scored 7 points in the fourth quarter.
North Bend Central gave up 354 yards of offense, including 300 on the ground.
It was a tough game for the Tigers. Scotus really took it to North Bend Central in the first half, and the game was pretty much decided by halftime.
The Tigers (1-7) host Wahoo (6-2) Friday night in their regular season finale.
The Warriors lost 22-3 to Bishop Neumann last time out after upsetting Scotus the week before.
Perhaps Wahoo was really high on the win over the Shamrocks and forgot to show up to play against the Cavaliers, but whatever the case may be, the Warriors are still a very good and dangerous team.
It's going to take an amazing and incredible effort and performance from North Bend Central to make this a game.
It's the final game of the year for the Tigers, and North Bend Central has to show some fight, toughness, heart, will, hustle, determination, tenacity, fire, and grit.
This is the end of the season for the Tigers, and for most if not all of these seniors, it's the final game of organized football they will ever play in their lives.
Forever is about to happen for North Bend Central, and I'm sure the Tigers would like to be remembered for doing something in their final game.
Somehow North Bend Central has to rise up and try and make this a game. Wahoo has a lot on the line in terms of playoff seeding, but the Tigers have a lot on the line just in terms of sending their seniors off in style, going out winners, and building for next year.
