Guardian Angels Central Catholic wins big at Plainview
The Guardian Angels Central Catholic Bluejays had no trouble with Plainview Friday night, winning 44-6 on the road.
GACC led 14-0 at the end of one and scored 24 second quarter points to take a 38-0 lead into the locker room.
The Bluejays added 6 third quarter points while the Pirates scored 6 in the fourth to make up the final score.
Tanner Hass had 14 carries for 210 yards, and four touchdowns. Nolan Plagge rushed for 63 yards on 7 carries, and scored once.
Plagge was 7-12 passing for 128 yards and a touchdown.
Tanner Ortmeier caught two passes for 65 yards, and scored once. Andrew Guenther had three catches for 50 yards.
Luke Gnad racked up a team-high 10 tackles. Ortmeier had 8 while Eric Klitz notched 7.
GACC finished with 469 yards of total offense, including 328 on the ground.
The defense gave up 113 yards, including 67 rushing.
This was a dominant win for the Bluejays. GACC put away Plainview in the first half, and coasted the rest of the way. The Bluejays did a good job of taking care of business from the start, and leaving no doubt.
GACC (4-0) hosts Scribner-Snyder (2-2) Friday night.
The Trojans defeated Omaha Nation 60-22 at home this past Friday night.
Scribner-Snyder is a solid team, and could give the Bluejays a game, but as long as GACC plays the way they have the last three weeks they should be able to win.
The Bluejays have to slow down Michael Broussard, Darnell Sims, and Alex Nuno.
Those three helped the Trojans rush for 385 yards on the Chiefs.
Hass and Plagge have to continue to play well on offense for GACC. Their production last week was critical to the Bluejays' success.
GACC has to slow down the run game of Scribner-Snyder. The Bluejays have to stop the run the way they did against Plainview.
The Trojans are probably a little bit better than the Pirates, but I think it's doable for GACC to hold Scribner-Snyder under 150 yards.
The Bluejays have passed every test so far this season, and I look for GACC to pass another test Friday night against the Trojans.
It has to be business as usual for the Bluejays. GACC shouldn't do anything different than they have in their other games. The Bluejays have to come out and play well from start to finish to come away with the win.
It's important for GACC to play well with a tough game looming at Pender next week.
